Vequist Physical Therapy is more than a physical therapy clinic; it’s a family practice in the truest sense. Family is at the heart of who we are and how we care for our patients.

After decades of caring for patients in the Wichita community, we decided to create a practice centered on what we believe matters most: individualized care, clinical expertise, compassion, and genuine relationships with patients and their families.

Having spent years raising our family while building our individual careers in physical therapy, the timing felt right to create something together. As husband and wife and physical therapists with complementary areas of expertise, we share a commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized care.

We believe physical therapy should be personal. Every patient is an individual, every family is a partner, and everyone who walks through our doors deserves to feel known, valued, and cared for. Another member of our family will likely be there to greet you, too! Danielle’s mom, Inise, helps keep our front office running and makes patients feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

We may be a small, family-owned practice, but that’s intentional. We want to know our patients, not just their diagnoses. We want to understand their goals, celebrate their progress, and be there through the challenges along the way. Above all, we want to provide the kind of thoughtful, compassionate care we would want for our own family.

When you choose Vequist Physical Therapy, we want you to feel like more than a patient. We want you to feel like part of our family. We look forward to becoming part of your story and welcoming you into ours!

Every family has a story. Welcome to ours.

Steve Vequist, PT

Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapist

Steve has dedicated his career to orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy since graduating from physical therapy school in 1982. Now in his 45th year of practice, he brings decades of clinical experience to every patient he treats.

Early in his career, Steve had the privilege of working with Charles Henning, MD, a pioneering orthopedic surgeon whose work helped advance the fields of sports medicine and knee rehabilitation. Steve’s work with Dr. Henning included orthopedic research and became an important part of his early professional development, helping shape the approach to rehabilitation that he has carried throughout his career.

After more than four decades in practice, Steve remains committed to what drew him to physical therapy in the first place: getting to know his patients, understanding what matters to them, and providing individualized care that helps them return to the activities and lives they value.

In addition to his clinical practice, Steve served as an adjunct professor at Wichita State University for seven years, teaching orthopedics and biomechanics in the physical therapy program. His most recent professional experience includes 14 years at Physical Therapy Services at Cypress and nearly a decade as co-owner of Core Physical Therapy.

Danielle Vequist, PT, PCS

Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy

Danielle earned both her Bachelor of Health Science degree (1996) and Master of Physical Therapy degree (1998) from Wichita State University. She is currently completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027.

Danielle is one of only three Board-Certified Clinical Specialists in Pediatric Physical Therapy practicing in Wichita and the surrounding area. She brings a unique combination of clinical experience in both pediatric and orthopedic physical therapy.

For more than a decade, Danielle has worked as a school-based physical therapist, helping children with diverse physical abilities develop functional mobility, independence, and access to their educational environments.

Prior to transitioning into pediatrics, Danielle spent much of her career practicing outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine at Via Christi East (now Ascension), treating patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, including extensive experience in post-operative rehabilitation. During that time, she practiced under her maiden name, Danielle Reda.

Her extensive background in orthopedics and sports medicine, combined with her advanced clinical specialization in pediatric physical therapy provides a unique perspective on movement, function, and rehabilitation, and allows her to bring a comprehensive, individualized approach to physical therapy across the lifespan.

Beyond her clinical practice, Danielle is actively involved in professional leadership and service. Since February 2020, she has served on the Physical Therapy Advisory Council to the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA). She also serves as Kansas voting delegate to the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT), representing the state in matters related to physical therapy regulation and professional standards.

Born and raised in New York City, Danielle moved to Wichita when she transferred to Wichita State University during her junior year of college. What began as a move to further her education eventually became the place she would build her career and raise her family.

Inise Reda

Patient Care Coordinator

Inise has worked in healthcare since 1981, bringing more than four decades of experience in medical office administration and patient services to Vequist Physical Therapy.

Throughout her career, she has held a variety of positions, including hospital department manager in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, physician office manager, surgery coordinator, medical coding specialist, medical records specialist, and billing specialist.

She earned a Certificate in Health Care Administration from Iona College in 1993 and became a Certified Medical Coder in 2009.

Originally from New York City, Inise moved to Wichita in 2004 to be closer to her daughter Danielle and her family. Now, she's joining Danielle and Steve in their family-owned practice, bringing her extensive healthcare experience to the front office.

As one of the first people patients will meet at Vequist Physical Therapy, Inise is an important part of the family behind the practice.
